Sponsor Question: Why is my Sponsored Child Being Replaced
by Another One?

Photo:
Warren Hall Crain with Emina, the girl he has sponsored for many
years.
It could be for several reasons:
A relative has come forward and is now in a position to support
the child, or a child has graduated and was able to get a job or
move back to their home village. In most situations, this
is a good thing and the love of Jesus they learned at ICMC is
remembered and spread to others. ICMC tries very hard to
keep the orphans that need to stay at ICMC.
OR
if you are one of those who had all your children replaced at
once, it could be because over the last few months ICMC in India
has been converting many of sponsor and children record keeping
to the online database. It may appear that many children
left at once, when in reality the process of switching to the
computerized system made it necessary to reorganize the database
and the way child sponsorship links are managed.
Now,
as soon as your child graduates or no longer needs to be at ICMC,
you'll be notified via email and a new child will take their
place.

Pray
for Your Child
With
all the great things going on at ICMC -- nurses being hired,
kids winning sports tournaments, great Bible teaching for the
youth, new clothes, water in the dam, parades and such, it's
easy to imagine that these children live like our children.
They don't. Twenty-five children live in a 12x12 cement
room with one caretaker, sleep on a rolled out mat, and share a
trunk that houses all their worldly goods. Keep praying
for them -- for their hearts especially -- that they would feel
special and loved. Behind their beautiful smiles, many of
these children have experienced great loss in their life.
Pray for them.

6 New
Nurses Appointed at Promised Land
Six
nurses with their nursing diploma and one year of experience in
a private hospital
are now staffed at the
Promised Land, as well as one nurse at the Eden Garden location.
Two of the nurses are stationed in the "sick room", and four are
assigned to children as nurses and caretakers, living alongside
the children in their rooms.
Mrs Christy writes, "This month we purchased all the
medicines the children needed and the nurses treated the
children very well. Many children and staff were affected by
“Madras Eye” an eye disease and were cured by His grace.
This “Madras Eye” is contagious; so many were affected not
only at our centres but also all over Tamilnadu. Please
continue your prayer for the safety of our children and
staff."
A doctor
recommended by a reputable government organization, Snegham
Trust, also agreed to visit the rural Promised Land location
every Sunday and treat the children!
Dr Jay writes, "Children
have poor teeth so we have to take them to dentist
to check. Some students’ teeth are removed; some need to
be filled, some need to be fixed permanently. The dental care
costs much money but it is very important. So we are spending
much money on children’s welfare. Children are provided good
brush and paste."

Christmas Celebrations: Nativity, Parade, Briyani
By
Mrs. J. Christy,
Secretary, ICMC
We
had Christmas function at St. Basil Matric. School on 22.12.’06.
It was wonderful. ‘Christ’s Nativity’ acted by our children was
so wonderful. From 22nd we started preparing
Christmas sweets and Karams for our children and distributed
them on
the
Christmas day to all the children at 3 places. Despite all these
all our children had their Half Yearly Exams from 12 to
22.12.’06.
‘The ICMC Carol Round’ on
24.12.’06 was too exciting this year. It was a big procession of
three hours. About
3000
people including all our children and Timothy students
participated in the Carol round procession. Tight security was
provided for us by the police department too for the safety of
our children and staff.
The scene and songs of the
nativity of Christ attracted many people on the way.
On the
Christmas day Dr.Jay’s message was so touching. The Christmas
service was so meaningful and fruitful to all. After the service
Christmas cake was cut and distributed to all our children. A
special meal ‘Chicken Briyani’ was given to our children on the
Christmas day. At the Promised Land the children were given
‘Mutton Briyani’.
We
purchased some Santa Claus dresses and dresses of different
types of animals. Our boys danced beautifully by wearing these
dresses on the Christmas day and for the Carol round. On the 25th
evening our children had some games competition and dance and
dramas at St. Basil church. These were also their happy moments.
In all our village churches also Christmas was celebrated in a
grand manner.

Three-Day Youth Camp Inspires Teens
By J. Basil Bright, Youth Leader,
ICMC
I am so glad
and proud to inform you that I had 2½ days of Youth festival
from 8th to 10th December. It was
really a blessing to all the 350 youth who participated. We brought
all the youth from Eden Garden and Promised Land to Salem
along with the Salem youth.
 Group
Discussion: Why do we pray rather than asking
human beings? What is prayer? We also had group discussion
about the Bible, who all wrote the Bible? All about the Holy
Bible was explained to them.
Talent
Hour: The Youth put up a show by singing songs,
dancing, telling stories, etc. An hour is especially meant
for them to put up their talent to glorify God.
New
Songs have been taught: New and energetic songs
especially for the youth were taught. All songs were not
only energetic but also meaningful. Everyone loved every
part of worship with new songs.
A
testimony of a Sister: A sister named Julie
told her testimony that she had a hole in her heart. She was
left alone by all doctors but our Lord and Saviour Jesus
Christ saved her and leads her path till today. This
testimony was really touching not only to the youth but for
everyone who participated.
Quiet
Hour: It was an outstanding evening prayer on open
ground with cold wind passing by and it was silent
everywhere; not a single person spoke. Everyone was in the
spirit of prayer. Boys were in two circles and girls were in
two circles. The punishment / chastisement that Jesus took
for our sins was shown to the youth on a big projector, from
a film “The Passion of Christ.” Everyone was asked to close
his/her eyes, which sees the false/unreal word rather than
seeing the everlasting love of Christ.
Most
of the youth were crying while they prayed. They cried,
“Jesus died for my sins and for my wrong doing”. It was a
time of repentance from Christ. Beforehand they were
provided with a blank paper wherein they had to write their
activities which took them away from Christ and were to put
it in a pot near
by.
Everyone took an active (including the drivers’) part in
writing the unwanted thing and throwing it into a pot. All
wrote their sins and threw the paper into the pot. Once for
all it was set fire by me, believe me or not the paper
filled with sins were not burning and it took a long time to
be burnt.
By His grace we are saved from our sins. We asked them to
make a commitment to the Lord for the rest of their lives.
Joy and the presence of the Lord was experienced over there.
We made a statement “No more sinners we are, we are the role
models for Jesus Christ”
Everyone
enjoyed the presence of the Lord. Hours went like minutes
while we were praying. Everyone enjoyed it.
Dr. Jay cut the Christmas cake at last and gave it to all
the children and sent them off to their respective places.

DECEMBER REPORT
“Let us thank God for His priceless gift”.
II Cor. 9:15.
The grace of the
Lord was upon us all throughout this month (this
whole year 2006). On the very first day itself the
joy of Christmas came into the hearts of House of
Peace children and staff. Stars were purchased and
tied on every building of ICMC in the first week of
December. All the little children were very happy.
On 03.12.’06 Bright, our youngest son gave a
beautiful message on ‘faith’ at St. Basil’ Church.
It was wonderful. On the very same day afternoon
Bright took all the Youth at Salem Centre for a
Youth meeting held at C.S.I. Church by YFC (Youth
for Christ). It too was so useful to our Youth to
grow more in the Lord.
From
8th afternoon to 10th evening
(2½ days) Soldiers for Christ, Youth Camp was held
at St. Basil Church. Really this Youth Camp was so
exciting to every youth participated. As usual we
brought the senior boys and girls from the Promised
Land and Eden Garden to St. Basil Church and it was
too great to see all the youth together. Mr. Joshua
and his team did a wonderful job at these meetings.
Our children learned many English and Tamil songs
too. Bright took A to Z responsibility being the
coordinator and speaker. These meetings were so
great to the participants.
On 9th
we had a children’s camp too at the Promised Land
conducted by Mr. Santhosh a child evangelist. It too
was a great inspiration to the children at the
Promised Land. On 10.12.’06 Mr. Victor, a good
friend of Dr. Jay visited ICMC and gave a wonderful,
message on ‘Salt’ at St. Basil Church.
On the 17th
Christmas dresses were purchased and distributed to
every child of the House of Peace. Food wear too
were purchased and distributed to those who lost
their slippers.
On the 19th we
prayed for the family of Mr. Richard Ryen
specifically as it was his 2nd death
anniversary. He was so much involved in donating
computers for ICMC.
On 20th Bright left Salem to USA to do
his B.A at South Western Baptist Theological
Seminary, Fortworth. Uncle Warren Hall from USA was
with us for Christmas His visit to the House of
Peace from the 22nd to the 27th
was a blessing to us. On 27th evening Mr.
Ken came from Australia to visit our House of Peace.
1st
year Board exams for St. Grace Lilian Teacher
Training Institute were conducted from 18 to
20.12.’06. All the students have written them very
well.
We had a Thanksgiving service on the 30th
of December at St. Basil church. Apart from our
children outsiders also attended the service. Mrs.
Christy’s message on “Where are the other mine?”
(Luke 17:17b) was wonderful. Many boys and girls and
staff witnessed for Christ. They witnessed about the
great and good things that the Lord had done for
them through ICMC. It was a time of glorifying the
Lord. Special songs too were sung by our children.
We prayed for all our sponsors specifically on that
day. Because of the support, prayer and loving
concern of our sponsors only the mission exists. On
the 31st of this month we were preparing
ourselves to enter the New Year 2007 joyfully.
We all Wish you a very happy,
prosperous, victorious and Christ Centred New Year
2007!
Yours in Him,
Mrs. J. Christy
Secretary, ICMC
NOVEMBER REPORT
"For great is Thy mercy toward me." Psalm 86:13
We
thank our dear Lord for His protection and blessing to us
during this month.
On
04.11.’06 we distributed towels, uniform and colored
dresses those who were in need. The children were happy.
5.11.06 was the death anniversary of Mrs. Neva F. Miller. We
prayed, thinking of the good deeds she had done for our
Mission. From 7 to 11 all the children had their second
Mid-term exams in their respective Schools. The result of
this mid-term exam was published on 21.11.’06. Some weak
children were given special coaching by the teachers and
wardens.
To all of our surprise an American team of 16 members headed
by Mr. Warren Hall paid a sudden and surprise visit to our
place on the 8th of November. They visited all
our children at the Promised Land on the 9th and
left us on the 10th of this month. Their visit
was a blessing to us all.
Children at Salem Centre went for a Gospel magic show
conducted by Child Evangelical Fellowship. This magic show
helped the children to grow in the Lord. Mats and Bed-sheets
were also purchased and provided to all the children in this
month.
On 17th all the big boys at Salem Centre
attended a watch night prayer held at C.S.I Church.
In every village church worship service and prayer meetings
were going on well during this month. Building work is going
on at Promised Land. Our youngest son Bright stayed at Eden
Garden for a week in the third week of November and
conducted prayer meetings for the Eden Garden boys everyday
one hour. Three of the Eden Garden boys were given bicycles to
go to their school which is far away from our home.
On
27th and 28th of this month we had
inspection for St.Grace Lilian Teacher Training Institute,
St. Grace Lilian College of Education M.Ed and St.Basil
College of Education B.Ed
On
both the days the inspections went well.
We
thank God and all our friends who support and pray for our
mission.
Yours in Him,
Mrs. J. Christy
Secretary

Generous
donors gave funds to build the 3-acre dam that's just now
been filled with "God's free water" pouring down from the
Yercaud Mountains.
A generous
donor also bought the land at the foot of the mountain
several years ago ...
NOW sixty
acres of land (also donated over the years) are being
cultivated with rice, which lasts for six months, 50%
self-sufficient!
NOW the dam
has been stocked with thousands of little fish that will
multiply into a fish farm and feed countless children (and
give the boys something fun to do!)
Want to make a
difference like this? You can! Here's a few
projects to think about . . .
1.
TRACTOR: $13,500
2.
BENCHES/DESKS for middle and high school for St. Graham's
Memorial Schools. Right now they sit on the floor:
$12,000
3. WATER
BOTTLES for each child (so they drink enough water):
$1,600
4.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS AND SUBMARINE MOTORS for the five
wells used for rice cultivation. Right now they use
diesel which is expensive: $15,000
5.
EIGHTY CUPBOARDS for the children's rooms to keep their
clothes and books. Right now they use little trunks:
$8,000
6.
BUILDING PROJECTS such as finishing the new boys hostel,
separating the elementary and high school at St Grahams, and
a dining hall for the boys. $$$
7. LAND.
Expansion of St Basil School in Salem. Also, there are
still pockets of land at the Promised Land in between the
main road and the Yercaud mountains that still need to be
bought to use the land to the fullest extent. $$$
8.
TRANSPORTATION: Medical mobile van and a van for
Timothy Students outreach: $15,000 each
THANK YOU!
For generous donations that covered the $10,000 needed to
give each child and caretaker a new set of clothing for
Christmas.
THANK YOU!
For a generous donation that will start the
hospital project by building a clinic on the Main Road by
the Promised Land.
