Evening in September Coming Up!
Saturday, September 23
at the Buttes Resort in Tempe, Arizona! Dust off your ball
gowns (and your man!) for an entertaining Evening of elegance,
interaction, and
auctions to benefit the children at ICMC. We've got some
blues & jazz, a classical harpist, a vocalist you'll love,
dancers from South India performing the Bharata Natyam, an
artist painting live, complimentary photography, dinner, fun,
and some great auction items to bid on. The best part is
that all the proceeds for this fun night out go to the children
at ICMC. There's going to be a big banquet in Heaven, I
hear, so why not practice celebrating now?!
If
you're in Arizona, Nevada, or California look for your invite in
the mail next week. If you're not close by you can still
participate by donating auction items like airline frequent
flyer miles, your timeshare vacation, or something creative. Contact Jeanne at
jzahn@icmcindia.org or

Timothy Students Arrive
The 11th class
of "Timothies", students-in-training for church planting, is
in full swing. Over half of the students are from the
unreached state of Orissa (70 students). 25 students
come from the tiny state of Nagaland and 26 students from
Manipur. Both northern states border China, a
seven-days train ride away from Salem. An additional
two students come from Assam, one from Maharastra, with six
more still traveling, for a total of 130 students.
The students learn in two groups, one of which has an Oriyan
interpreter. On August 2nd, ICMC opened a new wing for
the Timothy Training School, an expansion of the
"Jack" building.

Pray for...
WISDOM
as the teachers live with, mentor and train these mostly
young people, as Godly, Spirit-filled examples of
leadership.
UNITY
among the students because the different states of India are
almost like different countries.
SERVANT
HEARTS as the students sleep on mats, with as many as
fifteen to twenty strangers in one room, eating mainly rice
three times a day, doing service tasks on campus, and
practical work in the villages, as they study the Word of
God and prepare for future ministry.

Update from Steve
and Melissa Hopkins in India
July 23, 2006
Hello From India,
Melissa
and I just returned to the city of Salem after spending 4
days at the Promise Land. This is ICMC's big orphanage of
about 1000 kids. It was so nice to spend time there after
visiting there four or five times. We had a great time!
We
spent time in the English and Tamil schools, at the
pastor
training facility, and spent a lot of time playing with the
children. We had opportunities to participate in youth
meetings and a Sunday service. Our food came from the land.
They grow their own rice there, and the chicken came from
the poultry farm....
The new
manager of the facility is an amazing man. He was career
military, and recently decided that he should come work at
the Promise Land. He has endless energy and enthusiasm for
running such a big operation!
Speaking of
endless energy and enthusiasm, we have been absolutely
amazed by Dr. Jay. He has so many things going on, yet he
handles everything with an amazing amount of grace. We were
fortunate to be by his side for most of four days before
going to the Promise Land. During that time, we did a wide
variety of things from working in his office to going out to
a village to check on how a new church is coming along. We
also went around and checked on other building projects he
has going on. He is truly an amazing man, who has overcome
(and continues to face) unbelievable challenges and
hardships.

How to
Buy New Clothes for 1,000 Children
Measurements
were taken and a 3-hour trip to the wholesale clothing market
meant a new set for most of the children, so that each child has
at least two sets (one to wash, one to wear and a school
uniform).
The
clothes filled a van full with just enough room below
the
vehicle ceiling for the fifteen people that went along to
help.
After getting back
to town at 1:30am, the next day the fun begins
as clothes
are eye-ball sized and handed out to each child.

Youth Camp "Soldiers for Christ"
Meets Monthly
by J. Basil Bright, Youth and
Childcare Leader
It is
great to do the LORD’s ministry. We have Youth Camp (once
in a month) & Youth Gathering (twice in a week -- meeting at all
locations by age level)
It is really a blessing for
the Youth and to me.
They are really eager to know more
about Christ. The name of the Youth Camp is “Soldiers for
Christ”.
They show lots of enthusiasm
in both Youth
Camp & Youth Gathering. These Youth have
responded well for God’s call. Even the new students who
were Hindus for nearly 15 years have been changed by His loving
kindness and care.
Many
Youth want to live for Christ. My work is not yet over but a
long way to go. I hope that in all my work, my creator is
with me. I love to continue my job of opening the
spiritual eyes of the Youth. Two Youth camps have been
over and their feed back were excellent. Please do pray
for the Youth to surrender their life to Christ completely.
Youth songs were very much liked by the Youth.
In
Youth camp, the schedule is as follows opening prayer, worship,
tea, break, message, skit, lunch, question hour, worship,
message, commitment time, closing prayer and tea.
For
lunch chicken will be provided. In each Youth Camp a youth
speaker will be invited. In the first Youth Camp Pr.Joshua gave
message and in the second Youth Camp I (myself) gave message.
Question hour is an interesting section in the Youth Camp
because the Youth will ask different types of questions which
may be spiritually and at times worldly. They also ask some
questions which cannot be answered easily. They are not supposed
to reveal their name. (eg. If Jesus created us who created
Jesus, if Jesus can heal everyone why there is need of hospitals
etc.,)

Youth
Gathering Meets Twice a Week
by J. Basil Bright, Youth and
Childcare Leader
I am taking care of Youth
Gathering in 3 centres twice a week.
These
Youth have been given a Bible and a scripture
notebook to write their favorite verse in a chapter and their
notes from sermons on Sundays. They begin the day with the
Word of God and close the day with Word of God.
These
Youth had a chance to see “THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST” while
watching the movie I could see tears rolling down from their
cheeks. Songs books have been issued to all Youth.
Small,
small gift has been given to the Youth in youth gathering to
encourage them to grow in Christ. (eg:- Memory verses, finding
reference etc.,)
I personally challenge that
no one will fail in 10th & 12th
Std board exam as they are close in contact with Christ.
I am
really blessed to do God’s ministry, please do pray for me.
My vision is to make the youth to live and even to die for
Christ as it is written in 1 Timothy 4:12 "Don't let
anyone look down on you because you are youth but set an example
for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in
purity."
I personally want many Jay's from ICMC to become great men in
life to do God's ministry. I feel God has a calling for
these youth and they have responded well. I personally
feel that many will come up as a great testimony as my father
and mother are. I am nothing before God but God leads my
way.

|
This is for everyone
who knows Pastor Jay well...
Aletta
Price left a well-deserved gift for the many times a moving
vehicle lulls dear Dr Jay to never never land.
(Sleep is an amazing feat
considering the constant horns and near-death misses in the
steady and expected games of "chicken" the drivers play on the
road). |

Update
from Mrs Christy

“How precious are thy thoughts unto me, O
God.”
Psalm 139:17
We praise and thank God for His immense
grace upon us during this month. We
were so happy to receive Mr. and Mrs. Steve
and Melissa Hopkins from USA to the House of
Peace on July 9, 06. As they are
teachers, they were teaching at St. Basil
Matriculation and St. Neva Miller
Matriculation Schools. They laid the
foundation stone for a new church (St.
Patrick Church) on July 27, '06.
Auditing report for the year (April
2005-March 2006) was sent to the Home
Affairs Ministry in New Dehli on July 29,
'06.
We had a youth meeting at the St Basil
Church, Salem on July 8, '06. Our son
Basil Bright was the speaker. It was a
blessing to many children of the House of
Peace. The name of the ICMC Youth Camp
is "Soldiers for Christ".
During the second week of July all our
children had their 1 Mid-Term exams.
On July 15 '06 we celebrated the 104th
birthday of Mr. Kamaraj, our former Prime
Minister of Tamilnadu as a day of
Educational Progress. We had a
cultural program in every school of ICMC.
It was a great day for all the hcildren of
the House of Peace. The special prayer
meeting with Mrs Rachel (a gifted servant of
God) on July 7 '06 was a great
blessing to all of us at the ICMC.
All the students of St. Grace Lillian
Teacher Training Institute went on an
educational tour to Mettur on July 20 '06
which was very useful to their practical
work. Std XII Re-exam results were
published on July 27 '06. Those who
wrote re-exams got passed and continue their
studies.
Mr and Mrs Steve and Melissa Hopkins left on
28th with saddened hearts. They were a
great blessing and encouragement to us.
New clothes were purchased and given to all
the children. Nowadays the heat is
more in Tamilnadu.
On July 30 '06, a team from UK headed by
Miss Dolly Wainwright, daughter of Mr
Nicholas Wainwright, our honourable
President arrived at the House of Peace.
We had a great time with them.
We thank every sponsor for his/her loving
concern for our children.
May the dear Lord bless you continually!
Yours in Him,
Mrs. J. Christy
Secretary, ICMC
